    Job advertisement SHK/WHB in the Area of Research Infrastructure and Research Collaboration

    The chair “Computer Supported Cooperative Work and Social Media” (Prof. Pipek, https://www.cscw.uni-siegen.de/) belongs to the Institute for Business Informatics of the University of Siegen. In addition to teaching in the field of Business Informatics and Human-Computer Interaction, various topics are being researched within the context of several projects.
    Our specific project INF is funded by the DFG and is connected to the Collaborative Research Center (in German Sonderforschungsbereich) “Media of Cooperation”. The project INF “Infrastructure Concepts for the Research of Cooperative Media” focuses on studying current infrastructures and exploring new ones in support of scientific collaboration and research data management. In particular, we are exploring the development of a new social network for researchers (for more details on the project see also https://www.mediacoop.uni-siegen.de/de/projekte/inf/). One of the focus of the research is the professional exchange of tools, data and results within different research communities.

    At the moment we are especially looking for support in one main area:
    Research Assistance starting from the 1st of November: Assistance with the implementation of qualitative research tasks such as transcription of interviews, literature review, internet research, but also independent implementation of empirical research, participation in the analysis and writing scientific publications. Candidates should have experience in conducting qualitative research methods independently. In addition, the candidate should help in the organizations of events, compiling meeting minutes and post in the social media. Finally, translation and editing German-English may be also incurred.

    Your profile: Bachelor or Master of all faculties, autonomy and independency, self-motivation, reliability, (pro) active communication behavior, good academic performance, interest in scientific work. Secure communication in German and English (spoken and written) is a prerequisite.
    The project work, the project seminar or a thesis can be also integrated into the work. A longer-term cooperation is possible and desired. As a Bachelor student you would be employed as SHK, as a Master student as WHB. We offer largely free time allocation, consideration of your own needs and interests especially related to career-relevant research topics.
